SCHOLARSHIPS

The Ivy Community Service Foundation of Cary is committed to aiding America’s youth in their pursuit of a higher education.

Since 1998, the Ivy Community Service Foundation of Cary, Inc has awarded scholarships based on academic performance and financial need to deserving high school and college students. In 2021, we awarded over $22,500 in scholarships in 2021, and in 2022, we awarded over $26,000 scholarships. Additionally, the Foundation has expanded its scholarships offering by adding one (1) continuing education scholarship offering. This is awarded to a past recipient enrolled as a full-time student in their second year.  Scholarship information and applications are made available yearly at the beginning of the year.​ All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply. Applications are accepted in April of each year and scholarship recipients are notified by no later than May 31st. 

Please help us in selecting deserving recipients who meet the following criteria, by sharing our scholarship information below:

High School
Collegiate Scholarships

Seven (7) high school collegiate scholarships in the amount of $3,000 each. This scholarship is available to current high school students in the graduating class of 2024 who meets the following eligibility criteria. 

  • ​​A graduating 2024 high school senior who is Black or African American

  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

  • Attends a public, private, or charter high school in Apex, Cary, Fuquay-Varina, Holly Springs, or Morrisville

  • Will study as a full-time student at an accredited two or four-year institution in the fall of 2024.

Shirley Franklin Tyree

Memorial Scholarship

We are also pleased to announce the Shirley Franklin Tyree Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $3,000. This scholarship is available to one currently enrolled college student in an accredited four-year college or university.

  • Black or African American

  • Has a minimum GPA of 3.0

  • Has completed 30 credit hours

  • Is majoring in Education

  • Is enrolled at Central State University, Wilberforce University, or any HBCU
